We’re looking for a Lead Packaging Operator to join our fast-growing food manufacturing company. Reporting to the Production Supervisor this person will lead efforts in the production and packaging. While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing in environments with varied temperatures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with Production Supervisor and other operators to manage production workflow and appropriate staff levels for Packaging Line
  • Direct daily activities and training of Packaging Line and lead line morale and teamwork initiatives.
  • Monitor and continuously make improvements to meet and exceed company standards.
  • Understand and promote company Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMPs to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.
  • Support, demonstrate and promote company’s core values: Teamwork, Integrity, Courage and Curiosity.

Technical Expertise:

  • Oversee Packaging equipment set up and adjust as needed to ensure efficient and quality production
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues or escalate issues to supervisor
  • Understand and execute lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures
  • Complete standard sanitation tasks as assigned
  • Perform various quality analyses including, but not limited to: CO2 tests, seal dunk tests, metal detectors, etc.
  • Use computer and specialized software to create labels for products
  • Performs housekeeping and maintenance tasks to keep the production area clean, organized and safe.

Oral and Written Communication:

  • Read and execute production schedule for specific line
  • Accurately complete and maintain daily production reports and paperwork
  • Document and verify lot codes
  • Communicate issues and successes effectively across all departments in company
  • Perform all duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ year/(s) experience in a production environment as a machine operator or in a food manufacturing facility
  • Working knowledge of baking and production equipment and processes or desire and ability to learn
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Available to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Available for shift rotation or flexible shift rotation schedule as required.

Pay Rate: Depending of experience

Days/Hours (shift): Monday- Saturday 6:00am – 6:00pm and 6:00pm to 6:00am, (Day shift and Night shift)

*Hours are subject to change depending on work load, must be flexible as days off change on a weekly basis.
